    • The article focuses on archaeological research which has found the Silk Road which facilitated cultural and trade good exchange between the East and West starting around 2,000 years ago included a route through Tibet. It states excavations of a tomb in Tibet found a large number of Chinese goods including silk, ceramic vessels, and tea buds, which suggests merchants traveled from China to Tibet. It also comments on documented signs of trade among Asian mountain trails from around 3,000 B.C.
