    This essay presents Michel Onfray’s approach to the ancient Cynics and his reaction to them throughout his works. It will also examine the meaning he derives from reading the sayings and anecdotes of Diogenes and other philosophers of the cynic movement, as well as his own proposals according to this ancient model. It is, therefore, not only a study of classic reception by the author, but also a philosophical analysis regarding new paths of intellectual expression
