The article offers information on the art scene of Moscow, Russia. Particular focus is given to the political nature of much of the art there, including a November 9, 2015 happening where the artist Pyotr Pavlensky set fire to the entrance of the Moscow headquarter of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB). Additional topics examined include the E.T.I. group of artists led by artist Anatoly Osmolovsky, the fall 2015 exhibition "Expanding Space: Artistic Practice in the Urban Environment" at the V-A-C museum, and the relationship between art and society in the city.
