  • The article focuses on budget cuts suffered by European cultural subsidies and ways in which arts institutions have begun to generate funds. The article discusses organizations devoted to development such as the European Fundraising Association, ways to combat cuts such as asking the public for donations, increased cultural tourism and ticket sales and the consolidation of smaller art institutions. The article goes on to discuss other funding options such as research grants and endowments.
