  • The article focuses on the author's interest in big systems, taxonomies and totalizing structures in her art. She discusses the object "mano poderosa" or "all-powerful hand" found in a Puerto Rican votive sculpture, her time as an artist research fellow at the Smithsonian Institution and examples of totalizing structures such as the Dewey Decimal System.
