  • The article explores the artwork of Ethiopian artist Julie Mehretu. The author discusses the exhibition "Grey Area" at the Guggenheim Museum and a mural painted for the firm Goldman Sachs in New York City. Emphasis is given to the combination of modernist abstraction with forms from fields such as engineering, urban planning, and architecture. Other artists discussed include Peter Halley, David Diao, and Ashley Hunt.
