  • The article explores the history and cultural significance of the Neo-Expressionist art movement of the late 20th-century. Particular focus is given to the author's observation that the art movement and those involved with it have not fared well in the eyes of art history and criticism. Several artists involved in the movement are also discussed including Francesco Clemente, Julian Schnabel and Neil Jenney.
