  • In this article, several artists offer personal narratives in which they reflect upon New York City-based bars that have influenced their careers and work, including the artist Stanley Whitney, who discusses The Five Spot jazz club, the artist Lawrence Weiner, who discusses the Cedar Tavern and the artist Ross Bleckner, who discusses the Mudd Club.
