  • The article examines the life and work of the American artist David Wojnarowicz. Various topics are discussed including his childhood in Michigan, his impact on the New York City art scene in the 1980s and his death from AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) in 1992. The 2012 book "Fire in the Belly: The Life and Times of David Wojnarowicz," by Cynthia Carr is also examined.
