In this article the author reflects on art exhibitions in New Orleans, Louisiana in light of the environmental devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. She focuses on Prospect.1.5, a season of art exhibitions on view through February 19, 2011, which features the work of artists including Rashaad Newsome, Dave Greber, and Kourtney M. Keller. A show at the New Orleans Museum of Art focusing on the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil well is also explored.
