• The author discusses the article "Changing the work of David Smith," by the art critic Rosalind Krauss, published in the September/October 1974 issue of "Art in America." In the article, Krauss accused art critic Clement Greenberg of deliberately stripping the paint from several sculptures by the artist David Smith. A reprint of Krauss' article is included.
