  • The article focuses on the relationship between curator and former editor of the periodical "Art in America" Jean Lipman and American modern artist Alexander Calder. The article discusses the 1976 exhibition "Calder's Universe" at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City which Lipman curated, Calder's commissioned work for "Art in America" under Lipman and her family's relationship with the Calder Foundation.
