    • The article profiles the political and social aspects of artwork by artist Irving Petlin. The author discusses several works by Petlin including the pastel drawing "Hundred Fighting Men," which is based on protests against the Algerian War, the anti-Vietnam War poster "And Babies," which features a photograph of children lying in a street, and the painting "Calcium Garden," which depicts a sense of foreboding and death from the artist's own dreams.
