In this article the author offers observations on the growing popularity of art from the twentieth century Japanese art movement Mono-ha. Particular focus is given to the sale of Mono-ha artworks in the American art market in the early twenty-first century. Several artists involved with the movement are also discussed including Korea-born Lee Ufan, Koshimizu Susumu and Sekine Nobuo.
