  • The article discusses the work of the Detroit, Michigan-based artist Michael E. Smith. Several of Smith's paintings and sculptures are analyzed including the sculpture "Candy Cane" and several other untitled works. Additional topics include his references to Detroit in his work and his MFA (master of fine art) studies at Yale University.
