  • The article examines the life and work of the American artist Howardena Pindell. Particular focus is given to her artistic techniques, which involved creating a textured and layered painting surface. Additional topics discussed include her exhibition history in New York City, African American art in the 20th century, and how she was inspired by African art and textiles.
