Las lecciones no aprendidas del sistema financiero español. Dos crisis en perspectiva en el marco normativo de la Unión Europea

    Más de treinta años han pasado desde la crisis del petróleo y la subsiguiente crisis financiera cuyos efectos en España supusieron la desaparición del 47,2 % de las entidades del sector. Trascurridos siete años desde el inicio de la “crisis de 2008”, podemos hacer balance del coste que ha supuesto su tratamiento para el resto de la economía, y el resultado de la reestructuración del sistema financiero tanto para la ciudadanía, como para el Estado español. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar los paralelismos entre la crisis de 2008 y la crisis bancaria que tuvo lugar en España en periodo comprendido entre 1977 y 1985 y que sentó las bases del sistema financiero español. Para ello se analizan sus orígenes, el alcance, y las medidas económicas y normativas aplicadas para paliar sus efectos. Tras este análisis podemos afirmar que a pesar de sus diferentes contextos políticos, normativos y económicos, caracterizados principalmente por la pertenencia o no a la Unión Europea y al euro, existen notables coincidencias.

    More than thirty years have passed since the oil crisis and the subsequent financial crisis, whose effects in Spain meant the disappearing of the 47.2% of oil companies there. After seven years of the beginning of the “2008 crisis”, we can take stock of the cost it has imposed on the rest of economy and the result of the financial system restructuration both for citizens and for the spanish State. The objective of this research is to analyze the parallel between the 2008 crisis and the banking crisis that took place in Spain during the period 1977-1985, one that laid the foundations for the spanish financial system. To do so, its origins are analyzed, as well as its scope and the economic and legal measures which were applied in order to minimize its effects. After the analysis, we can affirm that, despite the different political, normative, and economic contexts, ones mainly characterized by the belonging or not to the European Union and to the Euro, there are remarkable coincidences.
