    El presente artículo, es el resultado de la investigación que se lleva a cabo en la Maestría de Estudios Sociales de la UPN (Bogotá), cuyo objetivo plantea una articulación entre la violencia, las disputas políticas por la tierra y la legislación de tierras en Colombia, desde el contextualismo radical, método propio de los estudios culturales en conversación con la geografía y la legislación colombiana. El texto es un esbozo general por las maneras de entender el territorio, estableciendo una cartografía de las disputas por la tierra en los Montes de María, región que comprende los departamentos de Bolívar y Sucre (Colombia) para ser contrastados con la participación de varios agentes armados y estatales en la región y las agencias que construyen las comunidades en este contexto.

    This current article is the result of a research carried out during the MA in Social Studies, UPN (Bogotá), with the objective of proposing an articulation between violence, the political disputes for land, and the Colombian land law, and from the approach of radical contextualism, a method proper to cultural studies, and in connection with geography and Colombian legislation. The text is a sketch on the ways to understand the territory, establishing a cartography on the disputes for land in the Montes de María region, one which covers the Colombian departments of Bolívar and Sucre, and contrasting it with the participation of several armed and State agents in the region and the agencies that communities have built in this context.
