La diabetes es una enfermedad de alta prevalencia en las consultas de Atención Primaria. Los médicos de familia son el primer eslabón para poner tratamiento a dicha patología, así como para asociar las medidas higiénico-dietéticas en estos pacientes.
Presentamos el caso de un varón de 46 años, cuya diabetes y evolución hacían pensar incluso en la insulinización. Finalmente se consiguió controlar la enfermedad principalmente con las medidas higiénico-dietéticas y pudo retirarse incluso la medicación oral que tomaba.

Diabetes is an illness of high prevalence in the Primary Care Consultation, being the family doctors the first link to put treatment to this disease, as well as to associate the hygienic-dietetic measures of these patients.
We present the case of a 46-year-old man whose diabetes and its evolutions made us think even in the insulinisation, but it has been finally controlled mainly with the hygienic-dietetic measures and even being able to take away the oral treatment that the patient took.
