In this context, reading is an important factor, being the basic requirement for the appropriation of information, and therefore, in this work we bring the mediation of reading to discussion. The objective is to discuss the relationship between reading mediation and ethics, through the questions: Is there bad information, "misinformation", or information failure? How to mediate information ethically and what are the implications of this? After the development of bibliographical research, it was possible to identify the proposed relationship, clarifying the existence of misinformation and false information, as well as the importance of the valorization of ethics in the professional performance due to the approximation with human development exposed by Information Science.
