  • The article discusses adaptation to climate change in low lying areas at risk of flooding. Topics include efforts to move people away from U.S. coastal areas through buyouts, the impact of flooding from Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey, and the work of director Fawn McGee of the Blue Acres Buyout Program in buying coastal houses in New Jersey. Work by New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) in launching the Blue Acres Buyout Program is addressed. Efforts in Woodbridge, New Jersey are noted.
