  • The article focuses on the increased threat mosquitoes pose as a result of globalization and climate change and the development of vector control methods to control mosquito populations. It states mosquitoes are developing resistances to common insecticides and reports on new tools to control mosquitoes including mosquito traps, gene manipulation, and new insecticides. It mentions malaria control research and speculates even if mosquitoes are eliminated from an area they could be reintroduced.
