  • Get ready for gravitational waves: the sequel. In February, the LIGO collaboration announced its groundbreaking detection of gravitational waves--ripples in space-time produced by clashing black holes and predicted by Einstein a century ago. Now the team are preparing for their next feat: spotting ever fainter cosmic sources of these waves. Although recently upgraded to became Advanced LIGO, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory isn't at full strength yet.
