In this article Marañón points out the fact that many authors have studied the adrenaline action in human body during the last years from a purely physiological point of view. In 1920 this author 1) described a new series of adrenaline effects in human beings, whose existence had already been noticed years before, 2) named these effects as emotive reaction. These effects occur within the affective sphere, so they are very interesting to psychologists and pathologists. This article presents all the data that has been gathered by studying this reaction in many subjects. We will see how, taking or not on board the physiological significance of the postadrenergic emotive phenomenon, this paper merely intends to specify the conditions in wich they occur and to remark its importance to the experimental study of affective live.
