Resumen de Cosmic Web

Niall Firth

  • Firth examines the "spider" of the so-called Spider and the Fly nebulae. About 10,000 light years away, its nickname came about because it looks--with a bit of squinting--as if another cluster, NGC 1931, is beinq enticed into the spider's web. The nebula is at the outer edges of the galaxy and is an active nursery for stars, which gradually form from interstellar dust and growing hydrogen gas.
