Resumen de Blue light protects organs in surgery

Clare Wilson

  • A study in mice suggests that exposure to blue light reduces a form of organ damage that is common during surgery. Reperfusion injury can happen when blood flow is reduced then returned to normal. For instance, it can occur when blood vessels are temporarily tied off during surgery, or when blocked arteries are surgically widened after a heart attack or stroke.
