Resumen de Reconsideraciones sobre orden social, poder local y conocimiento antropológico

El objetivo de este artículo es repensar dos nociones que han sido pilares en el tratamiento antropológico de la política: orden y poder local. En particular me interesa reflexionar sobre las posibilidades y limitaciones analíticas de estos conceptos en relación con el avance del neoliberalismo y sus consecuencias en la sociedad local. En particular considerando el contexto de violencia y desestructuración que las instituciones de gobierno han mostrado en las últimas décadas. Para lo cual retomé el trabajo de campo realizado en varias regiones y localidades del centro de Michoacán, México, a lo largo de los últimos años, complementado con una revisión bibliográfica de los estudios de la política local en la región. Los resultados nos muestran las posibilidades y limitaciones de los métodos antropológicos para comprender como, a pesar de la situación de crisis provocada en gran medida por la aplicación de las políticas neoliberales, se construye en la actualidad el orden desde lo local. Al final llego a la conclusión de que la importancia de repensar el utillaje conceptual en la antropología política modernas nos pude permitir captar las múltiples paradojas y contradicciones que se están generando en el mundo contemporáneo y a las cuales las sociedades locales deben dar respuesta.

In this article I present a rethinking of two notions that have been pillars of anthropological approaches to the study of politics; namely, order and local power. My specific interest lies in examining the analytical possibilities and limitations of these concepts in relation to the advance of neoliberalism and the consequences of this phenomenon for local society considering, in particular, two contexts: increasing violence, and the processes of destructuring that governmental institutions have undergone in recent decades. To this end, I re-examine fieldwork conducted in various regions and localities in central Michoacán, Mexico, over the past few years, complementing this material with a review of the literature on studies of local politics in the region. The results shed light on the possibilities and limitations of anthropological methods for understanding how order is being constructed from the local, despite the conditions of crisis brought on, in large part, by the implementation of neoliberal policies. The study reaches the conclusion that rethinking the discipline’s conceptual toolkit in light of current studies in political anthropology will allow us to better capture the multiple paradoxes and contradictions that are being generated in the contemporary world, to which local societies must, in some way, respond.
