  • The article states that ground-penetrating radar from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has discovered glaciers buried beneath crustal debris on the surface of Mars. While current conditions on the planet do not support the development of ice, the glaciers likely formed at a time when Mars' climate patterns were different. These glaciers may constitute the largest amounts of water outside of Mars' polar areas.
