  • The article discusses the origin of turtles. The discovery of a fossil in Guizhou Province in China that features the 220 million-year-old creature Odontochelys semitestacea is mentioned, noting that the creature possesses the lower half of a turtle shell but lacks the domed upper half. The resulting observation that turtle shells evolved from the bottom up is discussed.
