The article discusses the use of evaluating the human genome to reveal ancestral migrations and then relate them to relevant acts of religious persecution. When conducted amongst males from the Iberian Peninsula, such evaluation showed that almost 20% of the population has Sephardic Jewish ancestry. Another 10.6% has Moorish ancestry. Both of these incidences are tied to religious conquests in the region.
