  • The article reports the invention of an electronic thermometer that measures temperature with relation to the Boltzmann constant, which describes the kinetic energy of molecules. The device makes use of the direct proportion between the change in the electrical conductance of arrays of tunnel junctions and the product formed by multiplying the Boltzmann constant and the temperature.
