  • The article discusses the acidification of seawater. The dissolution of carbon dioxide (CO2) in seawater is described, noting that CO2 dissolution in seawater creates carbonic acid, which can make the water acidic. The possibility that the overproduction of CO2 could be causing a faster acidification process than previously expected is discussed.
