  • The article discusses the possibility that the United Nations' clean development mechanism (CDM) involving carbon offsets may be ineffective in reducing carbon emissions. The discovery that many green projects in developing countries that have been accredited through the program have done little to offset carbon pollution in developed nations is noted.
