This article discusses the discovery of the fossilized snake Titanoboa cerrejonensis, which is the largest snake ever found. The ecological conditions under which such a large snake could have thrived are considered. The implications of an environment that could support a 13 meter long cold-blooded animal were also analyzed in the February 5, 2009 issue of "Nature."
