  • This article discusses the use of sonic heating mechanisms to regulate gene expression. The experimenters genetically altered a mouse so that it would have a bioluminescent gene that was heat sensitive. They then used ultrasound heating to activate the bioluminescence, a procedure that may help doctors to regulate genes introduced into patients.
