  • The article discusses the diet of the dung beetle species Deltochilum valgum. The beetle's evolved ability to attack, kill, and eat millipedes up to 13 times larger than itself is noted, mentioning that it feeds on the millipedes' innards. The probability that the beetle evolved the diet as a result of the intense competition between the dung beetle species extant in Peru is also noted.
