  • The article discusses a Ponzi scheme by Wall Street financier Bernard Madoff, who stole $50 billion from his clients. Madoff was able to perpetrate the scheme by paying investors with cash from new victims, and was only found out when a global economic recession hit the United States in 2008. Ways to avoid being conned are detailed.
