We compare tobramycin saturation curves of different concentration solutions of antibiotic (3 and 8.03 mg/ml). We evaluate, by means of bioassay, the amount of antibiotic content in disposable contact lenses (OCLs) after 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 60 minutes of impregnation in tobramycin solutions. OCLs in 8.03 mg/ml solution, obtain the maximum amount of antibiotic after 20 minutes of impregnation while OCLs in 3 mg/ml solution reach this concentration later (30 minutes) with lower levels of antibiotic. We conclude that higher concentrations seem to be prefera- ble to reach an optimal level of antibiotic in OCLs.
