    Isócrates propuso un sistema de pensamiento que pretendía superar, por un lado, los errores de la metafísica o la filosofía del ser, y por otro, el relativismo de la tradición sofística. El concepto que sostiene toda esa construcción es el de bíos. Esta filosofía de la vida supone afirmar el mundo como único escenario donde se desarrolla lo humano y al mismo tiempo establecer la experiencia del presente y el pasado histórico como espacios donde buscar soluciones para la actualidad y para proyectar un nuevo futuro para la pólis. Bíos es una dimensión que abarca todas las posibilidades humanas y que define el sentido de la filosofía y del conocimiento.

    Isocrates proposed a system of thought that sought to overcome, on the one hand, the errors of metaphysics or the philosophy of being, and on the other, the relativism of the sophistic tradition. The concept that holds all this construction is that of bíos. This philosophy of life is to affirm the world as the only scenario where the human is developed and at the same time establishing the experience of the present and the historical past as spaces to find solutions for the present and to project a new future for the polis. Bíos is a dimension that includes all human possibilities and that defines the sense of philosophy and knowledge.
