La cuestión del pasado ha sido fuente de preocupaciones para el hombre moderno. Pero sería un error considerar que cualquier relación con el pasado ofrece una respuesta definitiva a esta pregunta. Partiendo de un momento concreto, la publicación de Ivanhoe de Walter Scott, rastrearemos el sentido de la pregunta por la conciencia histórica moderna a través de las lecciones de Histórica del historiador del s. XIX J. G. Droysen y las tesis filosóficas sobre la historicidad y la Historia de M. Heidegger en Ser y Tiempo. Con Scott y Droysen discutiremos la relación entre Literatura e Historia, fantasía y Ciencia, buscando la raíz del pensamiento histórico contemporáneo; mientras que la lectura de Heidegger nos confrontará con las dificultades de una aproximación estrictamente filosófica a esta cuestión. Finalmente, será Nietzsche quien nos enseñe una de las claves más relevantes: el filosofar histórico

The question of the past has been a source of concern for the modern man. But it would be a mistake to consider any connection to the past as a final answer to this question. By taking a specific moment from the past, the publication of Ivanhoe by Walter Scott, we will trace the meaning of the question about the modern historical consciousness through the lessons found in Historik by the German historian of the s. XIX J. G. Droysen and the philosophical theses on the historicity and history by M. Heidegger in Being and Time. With Scott and Droysen we will discuss the relation between literature and history, fantasy and science, searching for the roots of contemporary historical thinking; while the lecture of Heidegger will confront us with the difficulties of a strictly philosophical approach to this question. Finally, Nietzsche will teach us one of the most relevant clues:
the historical philosophising.
