Resumen de The philosophical basis of optimism in Distance Education

  Recientemente, la Educación a Distancia (EaD) viene recibiendo bastante atención debido a su expansión. En ese proceso, se ve con frecuencia el optimismo que algunos defensores tienen por esa nueva modalidad de enseñanza, identificándola como una especie de panacea para los problemas de la educación. El presente trabajo pretende investigar el fondo filosófico de la EaD, destacando uno de sus principales representantes, el filósofo Pierre Lévy, y su optimismo ante la cibercultura para la realización de la educación y la construcción social. La cuestión principal está en comprender los argumentos del filósofo, que, al ser analizados, revelan una inspiración moderna en la fe del poder absoluto de la razón humana.

  Recently, Distance Education has been receiving a lot of attention due to its expansion. In this process, the optimism that some defenders have for this new teaching modality is often seen, identifying it as a kind of panacea for the problems of education. This work intends to investigate the philosophical background of the Distance Education, highlighting one of its main representatives, the philosopher Pierre Lévy, and his optimism regarding the cyberculture for the realization of educational and social construction. The main question lies in understand the philosopher’s arguments which, when analyzed, reveal a modern inspiration in the faith of the absolute power of the human reason.
