Resumen de ¿Qué obras lexicográficas podemos utilizar en el aula?: Diversidad de herramientas y posibilidades de explotación

  • One of the most well-known and employed language learning strategies is the consultation of a dictionary, which greatly contribute to learner autonomy. However, many point out the shortcomings existing in the management of lexicographical works, which are often used partially or wrongly. On the other hand, it is common to restrict the query to general dictionaries and forget the existence of more specialized works that can also be very useful for the language learner.

    By using Galician dictionaries as an example, this paper shall present a teaching unit whose classroom application aims to show students the wealth of linguistic information provided by general monolingual dictionaries, identify other specific types of dictionaries that can be very useful where those of a general nature do not suffice and help improve users’ skills in handling different lexicographical works.
