Resumen de Texto versus imagens? Folksonomias e indexação social em arquivos

  The main goal of this paper is to understand if or how the archives take advantage of the collaborative tools of Web 2.0 and of the collective intelligence for the construction of knowledge. At the same time, the paper aims to confront and analyze the use of folksonomies and social indexation in documentation / textual information and graphics / images archives. The technique of comparative analysis is used, within the approach of the qualitative analysis of the several identified projects, based in the scientific bibliography, national and foreign, on the subject. There is a scarce bibliography on folksonomies in archives, and less identification of concrete projects / cases. Collaboration in content indexing is increasingly a reality, especially since it allows for a greater degree of completeness of the archival description. The users in a participative environment massively adhere to the request for information about the images, allowing to improve the information made available by the institutions and to increase the description of their collections in the institutional catalog. However, it is concluded that there is control of both Internet users and the creation of access points, not the free allocation of labels, in the case of documentation / textual information.

  O objetivo deste trabalho é compreender se ou como é que os arquivos aproveitam as ferramentas colaborativas da Web 2.0 e a inteligência coletiva para a construção do conhecimento e, paralelamente, confrontar e analisar o recurso às folksonomias e à indexação social em documentação/informação textual e gráfica/imagens em arquivos. Usa-se a técnica da análise comparativa, dentro da abordagem da análise qualitativa dos vários projetos identificados, sedimentada na bibliografia científica, nacional e estrangeira, sobre o assunto. Constata-se uma escassa bibliografia sobre folksonomias em arquivos, e menor identificação de projetos/casos concretos. A colaboração na indexação de conteúdos é cada vez mais uma realidade, sobretudo porque permite um maior grau de exaustividade da descrição arquivística. Os utilizadores em ambiente participativo aderem massivamente ao pedido de informações sobre as imagens, permitindo melhorar a informação disponibilizada pelas instituições e aumentar a descrição dos seus acervos no catálogo institucional. No entanto, conclui-se que existe controlo quer dos internautas quer na criação dos pontos de acesso, e não a livre atribuição de etiquetas, no caso da documentação/informação textual.
