Análise da qualidade da água em atrativos naturais na região de Santo Antônio do Rio Abaixo (MG)

    Tourism is an economic activity that uses the peculiar aspects of a region, such as nature, history, culture and geology. In this way, this work aimed to characterize the water quality quality indices of the tourist attractions Limão Well, Tabuleiro Beach, Benedito Martins Leite Seaside Resort, Angico, Baía, Chuvisco and Cristal waterfalls, located in the municipality of Santo Antônio of Rio Below (MG). Six samples were collected between September 2016 and May 2017, and the Balneability Index (IB), Trophic State Index (EIT) and Water Quality Index (IQA) were analyzed. Considering the IB, it was verified results classified in the "excellent" and "very good" classification of the Resolution of the National Environmental Council (CONAMA) nº 274/2000, except for the Angico Waterfall, given the discharge of sewage near this. On the other hand, the IQA presented results in the "medium" to "good" ranges, according to the standard of the Mining Institute of Water Management. However, it is important to emphasize that the rainy season influenced negatively the results of these indices, given the surface runoff. The results obtained through the EIT allowed the classification of waters as ultraoligotrophic, indicating insignificant concentrations of nutrients. Thus, this work can contribute to the planning of tourism in the municipality, collaborating with the generation of income and improvement of the quality of life of the local population.

    O turismo é uma atividade econômica que utiliza os aspectos peculiares de uma região, tais como natureza, história, cultura e geologia. Desta forma, este trabalho visou caracterizar os índices de qualidade da qualidade da água dos atrativos turísticos Poço do Limão, Praia do Tabuleiro, Balneário Benedito Martins Leite, cachoeiras do Angico, da Baía, do Chuvisco e do Cristal, localizados no município de Santo Antônio do Rio Abaixo (MG). Para tal foram realizadas seis amostragens entre os meses de setembro de 2016 e maio de 2017 e analisados o Índice de Balneabilidade (IB), Índice de Estado Trófico (IET) e o Índice de Qualidade da Água (IQA). Considerando o IB constataram-se resultados enquadrados na classificação “excelente” e “muito bom” da Resolução do Conselho Nacional de Meio Ambiente (CONAMA) nº 274/2000, com exceção da Cachoeira do Angico, dado o lançamento de esgoto nas proximidades desta. Por sua vez, o IQA apresentou resultados nas faixas de “médio” a “bom”, de acordo com o padrão do Instituto Mineiro de Gestão das Águas. No entanto, é importante ressaltar que o período chuvoso influenciou negativamente os resultados desses índices, dado o escoamento superficial. Já os resultados obtidos por meio do IET permitiram a classificação das águas como ultraoligotróficas, indicando concentrações insignificantes de nutrientes. Assim, este trabalho pode contribuir para o planejamento turístico do município, colaborando com a geração de renda e melhoria da qualidade de vida da população local.
