El purgatorio fue, a partir del siglo xii, el «tercer lugar» al que las almas podrían llegar después de la muerte en la tierra. Para establecer esta idea fue necesaria la implementación de diversas técnicas y prácticas a nivel social que pudieran ser interiorizadas en cada miembro de la Iglesia católica. El purgatorio se estableció como un dispositivo que permitió ejercer el poder sobre todo un campo social a través del saber. El saber y el poder crearon una subjetividad. El objetivo de este trabajo versa sobre la construcción de este dispositivo. La noción de dispositivo de Michel Foucault se muestra como una heterogeneidad estratégica que trata de responder a una urgencia

The purgatory was, from the 12th century on, the third place where the souls would arrive afther death on earth. To set this idea up, it was neccesary the implementation of diverse techniques and practices on a social level which could be internalized by every member of the catholic church. The purgatory established itself as a dispositif which allowed to execute the power on a whole social field through a Knowledge. This power and this«knowledge» built the subjectivity. The target of this work is to analyze the development of this dispositif.
