  • The article discusses the discovery of the Higgs boson particle by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the CERN physics laboratory on July 4, 2012. Topics discussed include the Higgs as the last and most important missing piece of the Standard Model of particle physics, forces acting on these particles excluding gravity such as the weak force and electromagnetism, and diagrams for visualizing and calculating interactions of subatomic particles by theoretician Richard Feynman.
