  • The article offers information on the Great Solar Eclipse to be occurring on August 21, 2017 which will cross the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It mentions significance of eclipse observations in measuring fluctuations in coronal loops by the use of charge-coupled devices (CCDs). It also discusses role of eclipse observations in enabling scrutiny of the shape of corona in high spatial and temporal resolution.
