  • The article discusses a study on the spread of information and misinformation on social networks. Topics covered include the role of the Internet in creating an echo chamber where misinformation thrives, the embrace by people of false information as long as it reinforces their preexisting beliefs, and the viral spread of hoaxes, conspiracy theories, and misinformation online is one of the most disturbing social trends of the early 21st century.
