  • The article focuses on studies on the growth and behavior of supermassive black holes in the hope to determine how galaxies are born and evolve. Topics covered include how a black hole can shred an entire star passing by, the ability of wide-field telescopes in allowing astronomers to study these cataclysmic events in detail, and how the growth of supermassive black holes shapes their surrounding galaxies.
