  • The article focuses on the discovery by more communities in the U.S. of high levels of perfluorochemicals (PFC) in drinking water. Topics covered include the struggle of scientists and regulators in determining how much is unsafe because potential health effects vary among species in animal studies and hard to determine in human studies, the possible correlations between high PFC levels and weakened immune systems, and the effect of the lack of declared unsafe limits.
